Poster Ideas

Hi, here's some really rough poster ideas i've just put together very quickly on Publisher...Obviously nowhere near finished but just wondered what you guys thought...

The first two are kind of like a police report/timeline sort of thing. Going with the whole cold/forensic report style.

And then the bottom two are based on pictures I found online of 'business' type infographics - the sort of thing you might see on a wall in an office. I like the fact that in the last pic there seems to be a hint of 'progression' when really all that is being reported are banal things, and then the one above that the circular form gives it a sense of coherence, symmetry when really none exists. Is it a bit too 'obvious' or overtly sarcastic to use this type of business, efficiency diagram for a project about the realities of efficiency/night shifts etc? Let me know what you guys think...

  1. Hi I think these look fine. We'll just want them to stand out. The progression thing made me think of the same place being documented on more than one occasion. I might try this with the area outside my house or something- so 10pm , then 2am, then 6am, then 8am or something. I realize this isn't entirely practical for us in most places, however, especially for you guys in central london.

Is it sarcastic? Not sure. And if it is, I can't say that there's anything wrong with that. What it might do is appear quite surveillance-ey, though, so the intended message might not get across. We could do a sort of shop at 11pm, same shop at 3pm- spot the difference. If there's no difference then it would push through our idea of there being little difference between the night and day? Again though, I realize people don't want to return to an area multiple times.

Or we could do a sort of 'when do YOU sleep?' thing, where the images below show everyday aspects of the night alive and open with people and shoppers etc to create the impression that people are not sleeping. This might make the person question their activities because they might identify themselves in the images in a sort of 'oh hey, I go tesco at 1am' or 'i'm usually travelling out late' sort of way.

Obviously these are just ideas and, like I already said, I think the post idea is a good one.
